Hi, am a postdoc scientist with the Technical University of Munich in Germany and home is......Nandi Hills! I was sooo thrilled to see the pictures, may I use them on my family blog, Matelong.org, please? They take me right into Nandi Hills, the bewitching beauty and oh yees the tea, tea, tea and tea.

Only sad thing of course is the eyesore of tents dotting the landscape, they show how brutal humanity can become without Christ.
Thanks and God bless you!

My wife and I have listened to his Brand New radio program for probably 8 years now and he is just about the best, and most enjoyable, Bible teacher around. We have friends in the Crossroads ministry, and through them have met him and his wife Betty. She has taught children's Sunday school almost his entire career. They are indeed wonderful people and we prey the Lord will leave them here with us a good many years.

Scott,

I've written 2 articles on this subject of ships, boats...

http://www.proclaiminghisname.org/haven.html

and

These were generally well-received, and so you might
enjoy comparing to what's written here.

Blessings,

Ric and Scott,

I listened to this message last night, and it moved me deeply.

I am forwarding it on to several others who think they are hearing good preaching. They are in for a real blessing!!!!

I have never heard a word that has caused me to covet having a hearing ear for the voice of the Lord more than this word from Bro. Ric.

Amen, Amen, Amen and AMEN!!

Daphne, I am with you. Before Todd Bentley came along, I always depended on Jesus to heal me and I have been perfectly healthy at 62 on no meds. Now, I do have a toe that hurts from time to time and have been told that I am starting to get cataracts - well those weren't healed when Todd called them out although I believed he was anointed and I would be healed. So now, I am going back to Jesus and skipping the healers. I do still believe that some have the healing anointing but I think I am getting along fine without them. It is a lot to try to discern who is and who is not real so I will jsut avoid them all. Don't get me started on the false prophets in this whole mess!

Scott...thank you for chronicling this trip and Ric and Lou, for taking it!

For years, I have had a place in my heart for east Africa. A friend from college eventually secured a spot as a cultural attache in the Foreign Service and has served in many African countries. Her first assignment was Kenya. I have always wanted to go, but could not get the funds together while she was there. Another friend's husband grew up in Kenya, though he was East Indian. Apparently the East Indians had a huge shipping business back and forth from Kenya to India. He was born Hindu, but grew up as a Muslim.

Kenya's history is fascinating, especially the time just after they gained their independence and Kenyatta became president. My friend's husband's family were friends with Kenyatta.

The African culture is in many ways quite delightful and they seem to have a lightheartedness about their lives and futures.
Perhaps it is because they do not know what tomorrow will bring, so they enjoy the present.

I look forward to more updates.

Thanks, Bob! Keep checking in as I am adding many photos and narratives. I've decided to have two posts, one on their time in Kenya and the other from Burundi. The photos that Ric is sending are excellent and really help to bring into perspective the narratives that were provided by Ric & Lou while they were over there. It's interesting how my heart feels knit to these people just by looking at the photos and reading the stories.

You did an excellent job of correlating the narrative with the pictures Scott!
Ric and Lou, this seems more akin to the journey's of the Apostle Paul and company than the the big to-do's of much that is called mission work today. I understand you even experienced what Paul calls being "in perils of robbers".

What has happened re Todd Bentley has left us shocked and very let down. Sadly, I doubt if I'll ever trust a 'healing evangelist' again. It's a disgrace. I could see that all was not well with him. he was clearly burning out and struggling. Why couldn't pastors see that? It's been a disaster. A lot of people, GODTV in particular, have egg on their faces.
It seems that we have not heard the full story about his moral failings. This is the man who spoke to Jesus and went to Heaven. dear God! Who, just who, are we to believe and trust? This has shattered many Christians. And this is not a demonic note. It expresses my human concern.

I agree, get back to the basics. I have been getting that message from the Spirit of God for some time now. I am not a real seasoned Christian, however, I am one that told the Lord, I want you to teach me, not men. I have been lead to stick to the Word of God and test ALL things by God's Word. Not to follow any man. Men writing about their experiences are okay, but we should test what those extra biblical sources say too, by God's Word. Our source for learning about Jesus and Godly living is the BIBLE. Some people in the body act like they don't know what your talking about when you quote scripture, because they don't read the Bible, they only listen to all of these teleevangelists, or so called "prophets" on TV. That is the primary source for feeding for alot of Christians. GET BACK TO THE BASICS BROTHERS AND SISTERS. Be not followers of any man, but only of Christ Jesus. Let what others say regarding their experiences be tested by the Word of God. Todd Bentley was so in to his own antics for drawing the crowds....I never saw so much irreverance in all my life. It always looked like a stage show when I watched to see what they were doing. I couldn't handle seeing him go "BAM, BAM, BAM" to those who he was supposedly anointing. I understand from scripture that the FRUIT of the Holy Spirit is peaceable and orderly and all things are to be done with order and not confusion in the church. Also, there wouldn't be a need for all this apologizing and embarrassment if these men would get back on their knees and seek the one they are suppose to be lifting up, instead of putting the focus on themselves, their antics, stories, experiences...whether true, or made up. Repentance and humbling of ones self...hummmm, now there's a thought.
